Naim Dac Ipod Touch Issues

Posted by: jrh on 17 November 2010

I've got a Naim Dac and absolutely love it. But I have a problem. 3rd and 4th Generation Ipod Touches occasionally have a skipping, stuttering, or static sound for short durations during songs at random times. I had both Ipods replaced and this hasn't solved the problem. I must not be the only one with this issue. Any suggestions?

I don't know if this will cure it, but have you updated the nDAC firmware? Instructions and file download are posted in the Distributed Audio section.

The problem is with the Apple OS 4.1 software. It has a bug which is affecting many docking systems.
My Apple Touch was affected after upgrading from 4.0 to 4.1.

See Steve Hopkins thread on this

There is a 4.2 upgrade from Apple imminently.
We're all waiting to see if a fix has been made.
