One would assume that when the new super duper bargain British ID card comes into play, one can travel throughout Europe with it, (now that you're in it at last, innit) as the Berliners (for instance) have been doing for years, when 'FLYING' to London, etc?

Or will you need a Passport too?***

One supposes that all the new blatant 'Let's be Hard boys' swearing going on here of late is to keep up with the old PInk Salmon Show's latest freedom outbursts, as well as prove which Forum is the funniest and most interesting?

Marvellous stuff,

Of course a lot of folk become ex-pats in Spain etc, because of the lack of Wespect they endure in the UK, (or rather the lack of respect they seem to think they command for some reason because of their private financial situations possibly?)**

Send all the Chavs to Spain, just the ticket Juan*

I see Blair was walking out with an old terrorist arm in arm a few days ago in Saaf Fricka, but that's different though, innit, aaah, innit nice*

As part of my new and varied daily tasks, I had the pleasure today of being given my first ever serious 'English to German' written translation (Paid that is), (I'm not a translator as such, unlike other fully qualified folk on here) and it's bloody difficult actually; to put it mildly, but because I'm quite a diciplined and hard old Chap, as well as being modest, and straight-laced, I will succeed in finishing it to the best of my ability. It comprises of a 16 page hand-written (ink) rather brilliant original Poem, written by a certain ex Lance Jack of the '11th Sqn. Prince Alberts Own Hussars', who landed in Berlin in 1949, after coming up through the push of the Rhineland 'Durin the War', and all that. Normally I'd like to post a copy of this work on here, but I feel it would simply be a waste, as well as an insult to the man's original intentions, such is life, innit.

Security²

Next year (ALL) visitors to the US will be required to be photographed and fingerprinted before entry, I wonder if anybody has any comments on the subject ?
After WWII the British Police requested that the wartime ID Cards be scrapped because it demeanered their public relations, and was promptly done. ID cards in UK has always been a contentious issue, and I believe there's an earlier FRED on it here somewhere too, if I remember correctly? Here in Germany everybody has to register with the local cops at their official address, which I hear does help catch those cheating-scrounging bastards on the Rock & Roll, innit.

Around the time of President Blairs first appoinment into office by the people, a, er, inquiry at great public expense (what else) was held into the state of Britain's prisons (including young offenders). Shock Horror, this has been to-date completely ignored, even though the the toughest, and most respected (just retired) British Army General was in charge of it, and its reccommendations. Surprise Surprise, Private Eye magazine as highlighted many aspects of British Prisons since this time, and none less than the (at least 9 deaths of juveniles in custody, usually through rough treatment by inexperienced stressed up staff (undermanned & trained), as well as totally preventable suicides through bullying etc, with younsters who shouldn't have been there in the first place, innit.

As the News Channel of the 'year' has just shockingly & stunningly brought (1 said case) to light in an exclusiive (7 year old) jobby, on this moaning's, er, 'news', it really does make one wonder which year they did actually win this great accolade, innit*

N.B.
Just as a reminder on above theme, the prison service, unlike Group 4 etc, are non profit making (?). This means when one of your lads or lasses is banged up by a private form, and stripped etc, by civilians, for having, eg, no drivers licence at 15, etc. The wiltshire Possie will say, bang the scum up, I say bang them up. Britains 75,000 strong inmate population (biggest by far in Europe, 10% Muslim) is certainly looking to a rosey future I don't think, Colchester Military nick seems like a 5 star hotel in comparison (I do know of what I speak too, unlike many on here)*

The REALITY is; there just ain't enough Good Quality Coppers in the various 'Farces' out there, and regardless of what certain, er, members on here think, who continually seemingly try to bum up their profession at every given opportunity (even when asleep it seems, and off duty, er, too), talking mindless, totally obvious crap. If I'd had mentioned this subject to the two Chaps I partied with last night, they'd have chucked me out of the door pronto:

How did the publication of 12 cartoons in Denmark's Jyllands Posten, a newspaper with a circulation of less than 150,000 people (a considerably smaller minority than the country's 270,000 Muslim population), lead to a dozen deaths in Afghanistsn, the suspension of aid work in Chechnya, the torching of an embassy in Lebanon and threats of beheading on the streets of London more than four months later?

Much of the credit must go to the Danish Imam Ahmad Abu Laban. Last December - two months after the cartoons were published and weeks after six worshippers at his Copenhagen Mosque were arrested on suspicion of planning terrorist activities - Abu Laban and colleagues from the Islamic Society of Denmark embarked on a trip to Egypt, Syria and Lebanon for meetings with imams and ministers in the Arab League, carrying with him a 43-page dossier in which were reproduced all 12 of the Jyllands Posten cartoons. Helpfully, Abu Laban and his companions also included three other images - one of the Prophet with face of a pig, one of a praying Muslim being sodomised by a dog and one of a devilish figure captioned "The Paedophile Prophet Mohammed", all of which were considerably more offensive than anything the paper had published. Ahmed Akkari, spokesman for the tour, claimed that they had merely been included for context, to "give an insight into how hateful the atmosphere in Denmark is towards Muslims." But where did these pictures originate? In two cases, this is still not known (though the paedophile image resembles the sort of scrawl which is regularly found on toilet walls). But the Eye can reveal - with thanks to blogger Neandernews - that the "pig" picture is actually an Associated Press photogragh taken last August at an agricultural fair in Trie Sur Baise, France. Rather than the Prophet Mohammed, it actually depicts one Jacques Barrot competing in the village's annual "pig - squealing competition", in which local farmers dress up and demonstrate their imative skills as part of a day-long celebration of the area's culinary speciality. Barrot did not even win.

Steam Powered P.E. March 2006 (No issue number ? Possibly there's something in the air?)(I'm serious Chaps)

That Manc injury reminded me of Mick Jones scenario in the classic Chelsea - Leeds game of long afore, I trust he'll be OK, touch a Swindonians head!

N.B.

Big Thanks once again to Our Adam for preventing Berlin Fritz from gettin banned recently from this ere forum, against all odds for making such a terrible, and almost unforgivable mistake, innit.

Liverpool - Hammers FA Cup Final (in Wales) wotta Larf, then the World Cup, things are looking up Chaps even though I have to for some reason appreciate that your interpretations and love of Naim equipment and music, is somehow different from mine own? Reminding you all once again that (unless you personally know one another) an internet forum is virtual, and remains virtual, for virtually always, until yer spur goes oot; and with the Padded Cell title, one would assume, a denizen of all subjects under the sun to be discussed, abused, talked about, etc, etc, etc, but this is ever-increasingly in my view seemingly simply not the case, issit, but you know me*

P.S. Nice bit of Brian Eno backing my ground at the mome, and when and if I finally leave this forum for good, either by choice or otherwise, I will never change my taste in hifi equipment (probably):

I fucking hate snobs to be honest, and the inverted hypocritical arrogant (educated) kind are ten times more worserer than the usual morons! Obvious, innit Tom*

Having found myself in this situation for either self-deserved reasons, or otherwise? I'll neutrally comment, in that, if one seriously can't read between the lines of my comments regarding police, er, 'Quality' just soldier on, until ones pension starts squire! and wait intil a switched on Politician has to change the game (Please Remember, Peel was also PM.
