Do you think is useful buy a expensive sound card for a PC? My PC has a onboard card, and sometimes I watch some DVD´s on it.

I would recommend an M-Audio 2496 Card, its a good investment for playing music on your PC; especially if you put it through Naim kit like I do.

Your onboard PC card is adequate, but a genuine hifi card like the M-audio 2496 makes a big difference.

I connect my Pc using the M-audio card via a Chord Co cable to my 72/hicap/1450/Intro 2's and its a big step up from the onboard PC card.

Why not buy a DVD player like the Denon DVD 1920 to play DVDs on it'll sound much better than a PC and play DVD-A and SACD too. It will also give you a really nice picture on the TV.

I'm using an audigy 2 and there was a noticeable improvement when I moved to that instead of the motherboards on-board sound.

If you want record/playback in high quality then this product from M-Audio and Chord DIN to 4 way phono lead will do the job well. It also includes 4 channel editing software.

The simpler your computer, the more reliable it will be.
I use the onboard graphics and sound system.
The only addone is a fire-wire card.
And it performs flawlessly.
Speakers are top of the line Altec Lansing
