WOW
My son James got this on the release date, (yesterday) and have to say it's amazingly good! 28 tracks with no fillers (IMHO) on this double CD - great music and a quality rock recording included as well! The Chili Peppers have put a lot into this one. At £13 fantastic value for music. A few more spins for this one today on the CDX2!

Thanks and glad you agree!
There was a news article that the Chilis were unhappy about a 'leaked' copy on the internet prior to release. This wasn't just because it was freely available, but because they were unhappy that 'this very poor quality' version was out, when they had taken such trouble to produce a great sounding recording, which it definately is! Good to see some high profile artists still really care.

they actually recorded onto analogue tape.
hence the question: when is vinyl going to be available? my dealer says he hasn't heard anything about it.

Ok there might be a few fillers on this album but by and large it is really the chillis on top form.
Fruscante's playing is sublime, the production and recording is excellent and all in all it makes for a great listen.

Total running time for this Double CD is 2 Hours! On further listening I think they do manage to maintain a high standard throughout, so it really is vfm.
The Ractonteurs (Jack Whites sidekick band) new CD 'Broken Boy Soldiers' whilst being good, is only 33mins long! Not sure if any one else has noticed this, but the CD seems to have well recorded instruments but suffer from not so well recorded vocals!

Yes it is. Currently being mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray. Should be good.
