Poor spelling and lack of spell checker
Posted by: Don Hooper on 24 January 2010
Comments are made on this forum about poor spelling and grammer. I am dyslexic (I think it is spelt that way but I could be wrong)so why does the forum not have a spell and grammer checker?

In the coure coure of my work I receive emails from a wide variety of sources. Any that suffer from such ills are likely to receive less attention than the correctly written ones. If they want my attention, they could at least use decent English.

Your responce shows little understanding of the dyslexic issue. After all this is not work it's supposed to be fun.

Why is everyone so terrified to specify anyone on this forum by name? Especially in response to a direct request?
@151. My post earlier was directed, not at those with a dyslexia problem, but at your unpleasant, in fact abusive, language directed at a post which you assumed to be directed at you. Your chip appears impressively large.

Hold on everyone, all I asked about was a spell and grammer checker, this is getting out of hand. Lets all calm down and then everything will be K O.

Just paste your post in Word, or compose it there, use the spell and grammar checker [watch out for Americanisms], copy and paste it into the post, or post a replay, box and hey presto!
I do this for any post more than a few lines, unless very tired and emotional!

Please read my last post on this subject. The original question was about the lack of spell, grammer checker. I want my posts to be spelt correctly but I cant spell. (maths on the other had is brilliant). It is very amusing how the threads develope and I do like to chuck in the odd hand granade for effect. I am not easily offended and nothing in this thread has wound me up or offended me. With spell checkers etc the lot of the dyslesic is not that bad. I am a company director and have a P.A. that sorts me out. I could not function without her. So having a brain that just dosent get speeling grammer has not hindered me in my career. In fact alot of dyslexics are very good lateral thinkers. Give me a problem and tell me it cant be done. I love sorting thoughs out. So ladies and gents keep writing but above all enjoy the music and keep it funny. Don
Ps Who ever came up with the word dyslexic to describe an inability to spell/read/write was an evil bast**d. They could of picked a word that was easy to spell.
