Is it time for classical fans to consider an iPod?

Check out the following link from the DG site. Entire albums can be downloaded for $9.99, and that apparently includes some of their newest titles. Hmmm . . .

Can you plug the Ipod on your HIFI system and for example listen to La Traviata for three hours without interruption.

Theoretically, although I don't know bout you guys my iPod3 2.1 has a very short but annoying pause between tracks. This is pretty awful on live albums and any kind of segue.
Does anyone else get this? Anyone found a cure?

You have to import the CD using the iTunes Advanced menus' 'Join CD Tracks' when you are ripping the CD. Note this will reduce battery life on playcabck as the iPod can't read the whole caboodle into the memory and spin the drive down. This wont matter on the mains driven dock-stereo connection though.

Just make sure you rip to AIFF and not AAC for maximum quality!

Cool

Does this also have the effect of making the whole CD one 70 minute track?

How much space will a 4 minute song take as AIFF compared to 128Kbps AAC?

On another iPod tangent, has anyone found any of the preset EQs listenable?

Andy.

No - you still get the tracks - just with no gaps.

Stereo 16bit AIFF take 10MB per stereo minute.
