New naim website design

Posted by: Tam on 28 December 2005

For what it's worth, I've always felt that it was pretty decent (though, like the vast majority of companies not that great either) and at least it for the most part stayed out of the trap of having annoying flash animations. I realise green is something of a naim colour, but if you want to attract customers with your webpage (and naim should do well to remember that the web tends to be the first place most consumers meet a company these days) you need something a little easier on a the eye that doesn't make you question whether your monitor is broken.

Take a look for yourself:

I think that all that green is too "loud".
I speak as a profane in marketing stuff, but it just hits in the face.

For the people who will never have the chance to come to Naim HC for a visit it would be nice to have some new pics of the place and some new short movies.
According to commercial security rules, of course.

Hopefully the green will grow on me.

Couple of 'bugs':
I see a banner of jibberish over the main pannel leading to the lh side of the n-vi box (With IE6). This area has a banner with slide in text on the n-Vi site.

Is it "World class sound with clarity of vision" or (naim-audio site)
"World class sound... with vision" (n-Vi site) or both or whatever suits or ...

Although Green and Black is the traditional Naim combo, I think it's a disster on the Website. maybe a lighter tone ofgreen is required, bit I much preferred the blue!!

I'd just assumed it was a temporary theme based around "green with n-vi"?

I must agree with others about the depth and choice of the colour green - not to my taste. I wonder when such kit as the CD 555,the PSU 555 (and anyother good things) will be seen both as products on the main site and as entries in the lates price list? I gather form the action on various threads relating the these products they may be slightly more than vapour ware, is this indeed true?

PS still encountering errors

Error: Expected end of value for property but found ':'. Error in parsing value for property 'visibility'. Declaration dropped.

when using Firefox Firefox/1.5 , is the site a bit broken or coded for IE something?

I'll add my vote for that being one of the worst looking pages I've ever seen.

Bring back the old site. It was better.

Clearly the new site is not ready for the prime time.

There's green and there's green, but Naim Audio/Linda Blair-Exorcist-projectile-vomit-green is where I draw the line.

The guy in the "n-Vious?" area looks like he's gonna hurl! Hence the green?

C'mon: someone's hacked the site! It looks bilious!!!
