New naim website design
Posted by: Tam on 28 December 2005
For what it's worth, I've always felt that it was pretty decent (though, like the vast majority of companies not that great either) and at least it for the most part stayed out of the trap of having annoying flash animations. I realise green is something of a naim colour, but if you want to attract customers with your webpage (and naim should do well to remember that the web tends to be the first place most consumers meet a company these days) you need something a little easier on a the eye that doesn't make you question whether your monitor is broken.
Take a look for yourself:

I've been away over Christmas. The new green site came as a helluva shock?
Can we have the old one back, please?

New webmaster/moderator takes over and reasoning for recent changes becomes obvious...

At least it can't have cost much money. Really, really bad.

Looking at the page source it says something like Colour = BG.
It's a case of having a few tins left over from the railings in the park I think.
Realistically we should be looking at Adam as the most likely culprit. His silence on this matter is surely indicative?

Wrong Nime - I am enjoying your comments on the one thing for which I am not responsible.

Is it just me because the site refuses to fully load or is the the main frame with the black guy in a really really poor jepg render?
If you click it, it goes to a tidy flash but on the main screen its poor.

Yes, it is poor quality, presumably because the Jpeg is only 19KB.

This would be a suggestion for an alternative to brighten things up. Note: It also explains clearly why he is pissed off.

If the Clarity of vision thing needs to be stressed, then this might work.

It's web code for "Click here for details of the n-VI". Someone messed up and the correct java link words are not displayed.

I add my voice to the "it's gruesome" team. What on earth was anyone thinking approving this? And why was the male model chosen? It really is too crass for words.
Bah! Humbug!
For heaven's sake, don't let the web designer withing fifty feet of the product designs!

Odd.
Their creative tolerance apparently is much looser than their electrical and mechanical engineering.
