Signal Ground and HDX
Posted by: busaganashi on 28 April 2009
The HDX has a switch for "floating" and "Chassis" on the back. I read the manual and browsed some threads on grounding and CD players, etc. I'm still confused.
My system is: HDX/Michell Orbe SE/Technoarm with grounding wire/Superline/252/Supercap2/300. HDX has a HiLine and the Supercap2 has a Powerline. All other cables are stock Naim.
The Technoarms grounding wire is connected to the 252. I tried connected it to the Superline, but the 252 seems to produce less hum, pops etc.
I got everything plugged into a Wiremold strip.
I tried both floating and chassis and couldn't tell a difference. Any help? Does the Technoarms grounding wire ground the system so that I should use floating just like I would if I had a Naim CD player in the system?
