Nominations - What do you think? some great artists in there. Karine Polwart is getting some recognition and of course Julie Fowlis. Martin Simpson has had a good year too.

I think I need to check out Chris Wood as he is the only one I haven't heard of. Am not quite sure whether Jim Moray deserves the hype, either.

No i don't know Chris Wood either but tend to prefer the female folk artists

Of those I am qualified to talk about I would give the awards to Julie Fowlis and Seth Lakeman, in their respective categories. A couple of others for me to check out there as well.

Chris Wood's Trespasser is a fantastic album.

A loose comparison of the 17th century enclosures with the recent influx of big business and yuppies which has destroyed much of the old rural traditions, ending with the gorgeous Come Down Jehovah.
