Going Out for a Curry Enquiry - UK Residents

Posted by: bhazen on 02 July 2005

This is to settle an issue with a girlfriend (who doesn't like to go out for Indian food as often as I do):

How many times a month do you go out for a curry in the UK?

Cheers,

Just once on average with friends to catch up on things.

I tend to cook my curries at home as I have had the benefit of a good Pakistani friend pass on some of his recipes and techniques. Definitely eat a curry at least once a week.

Post to follow but apparently moderated as I used a word the filter didn't like !

The word in question is "PAKISTANI".

I apologise in advance for being so culturaly diverse in my friendships to have friends from differing ethnic backgrounds and sharing their experiences and cultures.

If the use of that word makes me wrong - bugger me senseless.

Must have been "Pakistani" !

I see the use of the word "PAKISTANI" causes more drama to the filter than bugger.

l-t-d;

I used to live in Lahore, W. Pakistan, when I was a sprout; didn't like curry then, unfortunately. Great cricket matches, though.

I actually used to live in L a h o r e , W. Pakistan, when I was a sprout; didn't like curry then, unfortunately. Great cricket matches, though.

Funny, moderating software did the same to me.

Okay, back to the original enquiry: how often do you British people go out for a curry?

About once a month to catch up with friends.

I have the benefit of having a P A K I S T A N I friend who gave me some fantastic recipies so we eat at least once a week at home too !

When much younger once a week most weeks and with a bigish group of friends after a few pints of Young's beer. What else do you do on a Saturday night. Hardly ever eat alone in a curry house or eat in the daylight, it just does not seem right somehow.

Never. The thought of curry revolts me nearly as much as eating it.

Moderate your language and stop making moronic accusations of racist tendencies.

This is a legacy of an offensive poster some time ago and I am now altering the settings.

It was set to catch "Paki" but gets excited by any word with that in it.

It's hard to get a decent vegetarian curry around here, so I tend to cook my own. We have enjoyed an excellent dal with aubergine and potatoes this very evening.

Of course if Tom Cruise happened to be female, and lived in Pakistan (and parts of India, etc) there would have been a 100% chance that the liquid squirted directly & deliberately into his face by a 'brave male' member/thrice removed of her family for 'Reasons of Honour ?' as is regularly the case, would not have been water, but ACID TO SCAR & BLIND HER FOR HER SINS.
