In all sorts of statistical analyses over the years you would have to say the Beatles have it by a country mile.

In my heart of hearts though, no band comes remotely close to Led Zep.

They covered all the bases with such gusto and musicianship it's hard to envisage anyone before, since or in the future dislodging them. Truly unassailable.

Bob Marley & the Wailers grabs my number two slot - no doubt influenced by my time in the Caribbean. Phenomenal music and lyrics none the less.

Many other great bands and artists follow behind these two and, depending on which day you ask me, the rankings will differ.

All except positions 1 & 2!

Rolling Stones for quality of material,personalities, influence, initial rebelliousness, live shows, longievity. Who wouldnt have wanted to be in the greatest rock n roll band in the world. End of.........IMHO
