locked in the groove...

i often find that, for a few days, i get locked into a certain album (especially vinyl) and i end up playing it quite a few times. over the weekend, it was Joe Cocker's "Organic", and then today, i have been playing Crosby Stills & Nash -- "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes". i havent played this 180g pressing since i bought it a long time ago. because i have a lot of vinyl, i often "discover" something that i had actually forgotten i had. On CD i have been playing Eric Bibb's "Spirit and Blues" quite a bit.

what about you? what are your music playing habits? i would guess anyone with a naim system will have a lot of records -- how often do you "go through" them?

I almost never play an album twice on the trot. Occasionally when something new really grabs me it will get multiple spins in a few day period - Joni Mitchell's Shine and Roisin Murphy's Overpowered have both had that effect recently.

After the initial love-in I tend to jump about my modest collection quite widely following my whim. Choosing the next album is one of life's daily small pleasures, especially now because of the 'you-know-what'.

While your on what do you think of Trumpet Child compared to other OTR?

I like it very much, but my other half, also an OTR fan, is not so impressed. Karin Berquist's vocals are particularly sultry on this one and maybe that appeals more to the male audience (or should that read imagination!)

I have no problem with sultry. I have to say Karin is not unappealing to the eye either Smile
