Matthew Fisher wrote 'Whiter Shade Of pale'?

Matthew Fisher is suing for royalties as he reckons he wrote the melody for WSOP. And there was me thinking it was Bach.

Is Mathew Fisher suing Bach then?
Good job he hasn't heard Reflections of Charles Brown by Rupert's People, it was a pop psych ballad based "Air on a G-string" and recorded before, but released just after WSOP. It's a better record too, IMHO - at least I can make sense of the words.

What I don't get is why wait nearly 40 years before going to court. I know justice can be slow but surely it isn't that slow

I saw Gary Brooker last year at the Countryside Alliance benefit bash at Highclere castle.
He played the whole gig in shooting tweeds and a flat cap !

I'm going to petition the judge to grant an injunction against that piece of crap ever being played again.

The interesting thing out of this was that everyone had mentioned Bach's 'Air on a G String' as the source but Radio 4's PM correctly identified the true source as 'Sheep May Safely Graze'.
'Whiter' was John Lennon's favourite single at the time of Sgt Pepper so deserves some credit.

Oh, I didn't realise that musical taste is determined by what John Lennon liked.
