Or is someone messing with the Status Quo?

I thought I was losing it.

It took me a while to realise what had changed, Howard.

Go to 'advanced search'; there's a new room called 'dis and dac' about to appear

Ah, but it's only got a provisional licence as it obviously hasn't passed it's test yet.

How did you do that?

I can't be giving away all my secrets

I hope Adam gives them their very own playpen. I come here to get away from ethernet, NAS, wifi and all the other bloody computer jargon that dogs my working day!
My input to a thread over the weekend!

"The HDX will I am sure bring a new breed of clientele to the forum so watch out!"
This may be good thing, provided the concentration is on the musical quality of how the pieces work, and I can see no reason for further fragmentation, addong a new "play pen."
I am sure that the decision will have already been made on this, however!

Seems like a good idea to keep them away from HiFi and music.

If we are getting a forum reorg, can the 'Home Theatre' room be renamed 'Home Cinema'? With Naim being British, it just doesn't look right at the moment. If we are sticking with the American phrase, perhaps it should be spelt 'Theater'?

I see a trend developing here. The vinylists look down their noses at the CD owners, the CD owners look down their noses at the server based owners. Perhaps the server based owners can look down their noses at the Home Cinema/Theater contributors. Not sure who the Home Cinema contributors will look down their noses at, perhaps the Trade section

I agree with your point about the home CINEMA nomenclature!
I am not so sure that I look down my nose at the server crowd. It's just that I have nothing in common with them and their interminable jargon and randon acronym generation. I thought I was a bit geeky about hifi until I started reading their stuff! To them it's a hobby and all power to them, but to me they are already beginning to sound like the "pixel-peepers" in the camera world.
