spurs in non naim system

i am having a new consumer unit fitted wens for a few extra £ i can have a spur put in for the hi fi is it worth it in a non naim system.
i was going to try one and when i get naimed at least i will have a single spur to get me started. the consumer unit is around 10 ft away in a different room than my system.
