My first Naim System

Posted by: Sundance on 07 January 2004

Hi,

I'm finally going to own a Naim system after many years of wanton envy. System will be 72/140 with CD3.5. My old speakers are Celestion Ditton 44's which I will look at changing latter in the year.

Would it be good to invest in a flatcap or hicap for the 72 to improve the system and which would you recommend.

Also, I will be putting this kit onto good hifi stand... any particular way I should set it up ie. CD, 72 , 140 and so on?

Thanks for the advice. As always with Naim, it's all a matter of budget lol. Until I can afford both h/c and f/c you would recommend the power supply going on the preamp instead of the CD?

My Naim hifi dealer said it was ok to put 140 and 72 next to eachother as they were designed that way, but I thought it was better to keep them apart with as you say, f/c and h/c at the bottom?

I ran CD3.5/62s/140 a while, then got one Hi-Cap, and then another. Unfortunately I can't remember which one got the first Hi-Cap whether it was the preamp or the CD.
