HDX software upgrade
Posted by: MDM on 03 August 2009
I realise that this topic is not exactly new but I would like to bring it to Naim's attention again. I am sure that there are a lot of HDX owners out there who are impatiently waiting for the next real software upgrade for the HDX (and not the intermediate releases to sort out some bugs).
I appreciate that Naim will probably prefer to launch the software as bug free as possible, even if it takes a bit more time (and external development). However, we are waiting for almost half a year now ....(I believe it was first expected to be released in March).
It would be nice to hear from Naim when the new software upgrade will be available and what new features will be included (internet radio, ... ? ).

Great news. With regard to sending the discs by post - does Naim have the addresses of all HDX owners, or will the local dealer take care of that?
Also - am really looking forward to the iPhone app.

iphone/touch app will be in the itunes app store next week but can only be used with the 1.5a release.

Thank you! That's good news.
I have just received a letter from the German Naim Distributor Music Line: Update will be done only via Dealer (hardware modification!). Rip to NAS-storage and modification of the soundcard for 24 Bit/192 kHz will be included. The update is free of charge!
Music Line offers an update for the hard-drive from 400 GB to 500 GB for EUR 648,- incl. Tax.
I will contact my trusty Naim Dealer today.

No chinese support for hdx but the uniti update has chinese support added to the Asian version.

Paul, A bit dissapointed to hear that, even the new UnitiQute that you personally introduced in Hong Kong last month can support Chinese display.
I do hope this will be sorted out in the next release. Btw could we have a list of enhancement that 1.5a will bring? Thanks again!

Ultramanzero.
Nominate Network Attached Storage (NAS) drives as a location for their ripped music
Listen to music stored on their HDX / NS0x elsewhere in their home UPnP(tm)
Have more control over how their music is stored and catalogued
Control their HDX / NS0x via an iPhone or iPod Touch
