Behind Blue Eyes

OK, hands up who has had to have a fix of 'Who's Next' following the demise of Mr Entwistle?

That opening thirty year old analogue synth to Baba O Riley - Magnificent!

Anyone have 'Scoop' with Townshend's home demo version of 'Behind Blue Eyes'.

Chilling stuff.

Several days back my son treated me out to a few games of pool and pinball at my local brew-pub. He also loaded the jukebox with the entire "Who's Next" disc. To my surprise not only does the new version of this record have the live versions of unreleased songs from the "Isle of Wight" concert but remixes as well! In fact, "Behind Blue Eyes" is my son's favorite Who song and we were both caught off-guard to hear the new remix a cross between the "Scoop" version and the original "Who's Next" version. The background voices sound earie and the guitar solo raw but controlled. Worth buying just for that song.

I also agree about the "Baba" synth. Classic.
The synth in "Won't Get Fooled Again"; Ditto.

My favorite Entwistle performance on record is when he really starts whacking the bass near the end of "Who Are You".

Do you have the "The Who at the Isle of Wight" on DVD? I always wondered what The Who looked like performing "Live At Leeds"(the greatest rock album of all time) and this concert is it! Townshend in the white jumpsuit, Entwistle in the Mr. Bones jumpsuit, Pete and Keith's banter between every song, etc. It also has a tribute to Keith Moon at the end; perhaps a new edition with a dual tribute including home movies of Entwistle will be next.
