250 warm up

Posted by: syd on 20 January 2003

Hi All

Would it be OK to connect a Nap 250 to the mains without it being connected to the system. I would like to check that it is working ie. light coming on etc. or could this damage it. It was delivered this morning and has been in transit via Parcel Force since Thursday. I've removed it from the box and left it lying on a table to acclimatise it to my room. I was worried that the cold and damp may affect it if I powered it on right away.

Hi Syd

There shouldn't be a problem as its not connected to anything. You have already done the sensible thing by making sure there is no dampness in it.

Thanks NB

I left it for a couple of hours and have just set it up in the last 20 mins. It sounds great and I now know why they say Saras need it. Right from the off it was tighter, faster and as I'm listening right now (Cream disraeli gears) It's improving by the minute. I've got all this to look forward to again on Wednesday as I'm picking up a 32.5 and hicap.

The system is still improving as the hours go by. Smile. How long before it is fully rerun in as it was last powered up on Wednesday when the seller tested it before packing it.

Also a big thank you to Richard Dane and Naim staff for the swift reply to my query as to the History of the unit. Serviced/Refurbed in July 97 so a good few years before it needs servicing again.

Hi Syd,
By my powers of deduction that will be my 32.5 Hicap you be talking about.Just to let you know that they are being held at a constant 20degrees celcius and 55 % of relative humidity Big Grin
