Only a guess, but I suspect everyone that has visited a certain establishment in Leicester will most likely have a copy.
It's a nice album, well recorded. I have it on 200g vinyl.

I found this brand new on 2 x Vinyl:

It is the last recording he ever made, released by his family in 2003 after he died before he could finalize it.
I recommend it as vintage Hooker . He sounds fabulous and it has great backing artists like Johnny Winter and George Thorogood on various tracks and one with Van Morrison.
Err... I just checked and they seem to be selling it as rare vinyl now for about 100 GBP!!... so best get the CD version which is still available at normal prices.
regards

Love John Lee now if you want acoustic recommendations then KeanoKing is your man. Personally I prefer his more electric stuff.
I believe Serve you Right to Suffer is coming out on SACD but not sure if it is out yet.

Hi Terry,
well since Ewemon has pomted me i'll give you my favourites:
john Lee Hooker:
Alone,
burning hell
don't turn me from your door
graveyard blues
it serve you right to suffer,
live at newport
live at cafe au go go
original folk blues
the real folk blues
sings the blues :that's my story
there are many many more, most i haven't heard but i would say these are some of his best.
Now if you like that hipnotic type blues, which i sure do then you must check out the mississippi hill country blues, namely RL burnside and Junior Kimbrough.
RL Burnside:
acoustic stories
first recordings
mississippi hill country blues
my black name a ringin
sound machine groove,
basically everything!!!!
Junior Kimbrough:
most things haven't worked out
sad day's lonely nights
do the rump
god knows i tried
And if you ask Ewemon nicely he will give you a great list, he is always my first call when looking for something new. He has a great knowledge of the blues.

One of my favourite JLH albums is: CHILL OUT featuring van morrison which hasnt been mentioned yet and is recorded very well but is quite hard to get these days but if you see a copy then snap it up - you wont regret it.

Sorry forgot to mention - its the 1995 version on the virgin label which has...serves me right to suffer/syndicator on it.

Off at a something of a tanget, it worth checking out what Tinariwen have done with a sound that JLH would recognise.

I prefer The Healer to Mr. Lucky. If you like these two also consider buying Chill Out, which I consider to be better than either.

Get all the Alligator Records anniversary collections, then for each track you like get each of the albums sampled. It will likely be all of them.
