Hard times at Linn
Posted by: warwick on 18 April 2007
Just got this link from Howard Popeck's listencarefully blog. Linn are bracing themselves for heavy redundancies. Wanting to focus on the high end.
http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/display.var.1336328.0.0.phpVery sad. Come on Ivor, perhaps your company profits are down because the starting point is too high. Naim and Rega make kit costing less than a grand. No Linn cd players under a grand. Perhaps they have focussed too much on AV.

They seem to be all at sea...

Do Naim have any plans for a boat range?

A big power supply like the "Penta 555" perhaps, which attendant mobile power station to supply a decent quality mains electric supply!
Can you imagine SBLs on a flipping boat!

Hi all
Just read an interview in HiFiChoice with Roy Gandy, very interesting he is saying that business is better than ever and the factory cannot produce the equipment fast enough and dealers are getting impatient, but he does not want to skimp on quality so they'll have to wait. Also all Rega equipment is built in Essex and he will not outsource to China. So rumours of the UK HiFi industry dieing are a little exaggerated and a little bird has told me Naim are also doing better than ever. So a little positive News then boys.

Great news Whizzkid. Rega is a company who totally deserve success.
Great sounding products, intelligently designed, available at all sensible price points and wonderful value fo money. Interesting to see that they have a no-advertising policy - which shows the level of confidence they have in their products.

You can add me to the Rega fan club - great products and no off-shoring; what more can you want.
Wished I worked for a company like that.

I to love rega kit, I had a planar 3 and a planet in my time.
There always used to be a waiting time for planar 2&3's.
