Is it the world's best job?
. I am envious.

A wonderful job certainly, but why be envious?
Surely Sacramento must be a wonderful place to live with the whole of CA to explore in your leisure time!
Have a good day

Yep, Sac is certainly a good place to be but I would not mind being in the middle of nowhere (i.e. the ocean) for a change

When I worked for a Ford owned company one used to get mail's from a guy that reported on the competitions various new automobiles.
Reading car magazines all day and getting payed. Probably quite well payed to!

...I remember reading in a photography magazine some years ago about a young guy whose first real job on leaving college was to act as a gofer for a leading photographer who was shooting a bunch of super-models for a nude calendar.
This young guys main job (during a 2 week shoot in Mustique) was to check that non of the models were wearing underwear at least 1 hour before being photographed (less the lines showed up on their bodies)
I can think of worst jobs!

Congratulations Ben.
Well done, I'm sure all Australians are very happy for you. Tourism Queensland picked the best person and your sure to have a great time even if it is a paying job..
You can buy some serious Naim kit for the amount you will earn over the 6 months.
Enjoy, and wonderful to see your parents so pleased for you.
Have fun..!

Things have changed a lot for Davis during the last decade or so. BTW, according to a CNN Money survey, Davis is now the second most educated city in the US, used to be #1.

A long time ago, while working for Reuters in the city of London, a well-earned colleague of mine, casually making a comment that the best job in the world would be a HI-FI dealer because not only one can enjoy listening to fine music all day long but he/she can also experience all the nice, state of the art HI-FI equipments in the meantime. Not quite sure what he is doing right now but at one time I think he was seriously contemplating becoming a HI-FI dealer himself.
Now I think over it, it is actually one of the best jobs in the world.

Only had a brief visit , but it seemed a nice enough city, some areas of LA and some other places might be better candidates for that accolade.

Wow! This is a very dramatic, extreme comment. Obviously, you have never been to Sac as well, Patrick. Sacramento, like many middle-of-the-road towns in CA, has some good and bad areas. Some areas, IMO, are very nice and historic. Remember, Mark Twain used to live there.

It did not mention the word PORNSTAR so the title is very misleading.
