Reverend and the Makers

Do yourselves a favour! Check out 'Reverend and the Makers'

This is their most well-known song Heavyweight Champion of the World on youtube.

But as well as this slick promo vid (which I think is a bit too slick, really) do follow the youtube links to other songs as well, and especially the lives ones which offer a better flavour of the band's essence, such as He said he loved me.

A blend of the fresh incisiveness of (friends and fellow Sheffielders) The Arctic Monkeys, with the deeply satisfying bagginess of The Stone Roses.

Excellent! And on my birthday list (near Crimbo Smile)

Very good James - I bet he's a Ray Davies fan - he even looks a bit like the great man.

My son went to see 'The Rev' at the Carling in Bristol recently, and the show finished at 9.45. When I arrived to pick him and his friends up from the gig the lead singer was busking outside on top of a nearby garage roof to a crowd of fans !

It's here! (Guess whose Mrs secretly looks at the Forum...??!! Smile)

I recommend this even more highly that I did originally. On hearing it all, this is a SUPERB album, and beautifully produced too. A really refreshing sound.

By my reckoning, Munch, on the same basis I should have a Clearaudio Smart Matrix coming (or else a garden shredder...)

Good wishes, James

PS This album really is good - third play of the day.
