Speaker stand question / advice

Posted by: Lee Henley on 03 October 2010

Ive been meaning to ask this question for a while, I have stands made by Apollo which support my Jamo Concert 8 speakers, the question I have is should the base of the stand fully support the size of the speaker as mine currently don't see picture below. I can get a steel plate made at work which would cover the size of the speaker and fix onto the original stand, but is it worth the while?

Any help as always much appreciated

Hi Lee -

Had a conversation like this with the owner of Sound Anchors early last summer.

Was considering going with a one-post stand for my Harbeth C7's. He told me that a one-poster would not work well for this thin-walled style of speaker, and that it should instead be supported at its edges (and not with a solid plate across most of the bottom). Eventually went with the four-post model.

Anyway, my point is that you should contact Jamo and see what they say.

Good luck.

Hi Hook, I tried to contact Jamo but did not have much look, the original stands that I have sen on the internet for these speakers fully support the base f the speaker so I might go ahead and get a plate made at work, worth a try I guess as it wont cost me nothing

Cheers
