The poor sod hasn't been quite the same since he had his haircut sewn back together by the vet. Cut like a Stanley nkife to the skull (for and aft) by something (or somebody) while he was out for the night. Lovely bit of stitching. "Couldn't see the join!" To misquote an other. But I think the poor chap lost his memory somewhere.

Although in the general scheme of things people (especially helpless kids) are supposed to be our priority (as adult humans) to cherish and protect in life, I am rather fond of cats too. After listening to a WS chat last night about Siberia now enjoying temperatures as low as -60°C, and Street kids in Moscow wallowing in the relative warmth & Comfort of a meer -30°C! survival of the fittest being the nature/name of the old game, unlike the natural born winners amongs't us, such as highly trained ex-squaddies for instance, now highly untrained IFA's, who in the real world wouldn't last 5 seconds, without their little networks (paid for by the tax payer 'again'), and No! as has been well recorded on here, I am not in any way against the Military as a realistic option.

Fortunately for your cat; Nime me old chopper, who has far more chance than us to survive out there in some warm barn or hole, he'll have no qualms about eating some juicy bats that come his way, where'as we'd be jailed, innit. I've decided to stay in afterall, as I've just heard that my wandering copper pal has just left a belated birthday 'large G&T' via e-mail' in my local,( 10 minutes trudge through the snow from here) (only -10°C here now, virtual bloody summer, innit) and that, I definately cannie handle right now, and that's a fact, over & oot John*

N.B. I hope whoever may be fortunate enough to read this drivvle that they take my above ex-squaddie etc, comments, in the context they were meant to be written in, and those that can't see what I mean, are exactly those to who'm I refer, innit* ** (3 Smileys with space)

Raising "*" to an artform. Talking of which: The Danish art museum (whatever) has just discovered it has been sitting on a couple of Rembrandts in its storage area. Never on display (I suppose) as they weren't considered the "real thing".
But now an expert says they are! So they are all excited. So if they weren't Rembrandts yesterday and unworthy of diplay... but are today....when they can be used as working capital to loan "great works of art" from other art galleries and museums.. well, I've just decided to be cynical about old farts as well as modern. Like Zoo's, I've never been a close Buddy of Museums or Galleries, and see them only as means for folk these days to make money, wether from the public purse, or as collateral through their stock. Like Leonado, much of Mr R's work was completed by apprentices and students, therefore basically fine factory output as far as I'm concerned*

P.S. I recall in earlier days when my/Our Kärcher machine was serviced every couple of months or so (Or when I rang them), the term GUNK referred to their own liquid magic that one puts into the system as part of the Kärcher experience, and hence has one tied to their product, as good as it was/is, innit*

Super expensive private fibre-glass & steel yachts are different from decent motors, where one buggers up door seals, paintwork, etc, etc, if used too closely by a complete wally!, as is generally the case in my experience, but Hey, please carry on*

I was nearly tempted to re-introduce the Old 'Prime Minister Soon To Resign' thread yet again, but thought better of it, remembering the teaching, that timing must be of the essence, innit*

I suppose that when one considers that the land of the free & the brave's wrath over their revenge in respect of 9/11 (not Oklahoma), in two mega theatre's of conflict, ridding us of the taliban Man, and Saddam man, at enourmous human cost, let alone incalculable financial strain to the west, it's rather ironic (if not true) that Osama Bin Bag will still be taunting the big shots with videos etc, long after Dubya has departed, and has hit the old comforting bottle once again, like every good George should, and does, innit*

Goodnight,

The importance is that:
the enquiry is as comprehesive as is allowed,
that it does not impact on ongoing investigations probably still taking place,

and they are left alone to do their jobs without any more media leaks!

Taken from today's Pink Salmon Show:

The impotence is Andy old bean, firstly that you don't deem it fit to mention on this forum? so I'll bring it here myself; as it is for you, and others to remember (as previously stated with Senior names supplied) that the so-called independent inquiry was carried out with senior ex and serving Met Officers in charge, ie, not impartial one iota: FACT: as will be the downfall scenario, and wasting everybody's bloody time & public money) : With all due respect I feel you are making a fool of yourself even 'discussing' it, and as I've often said, your never ending desire to remind everybody at every available given opportunity what you actually do for a living (if really true?) is in this case I feel, just a little bit too wide of your remit Son, and as such you should subsequently be ready to take some flack, instead of this never ending stark raving bloody obvious rhetorical bullshit

Dear Fritz,

And I thought I was the only non-sleeper! It must even be an hour later (interms of the clock) in sunny Berlin!

Nothing to say, only hello, and hope things are going alright!

Imagine a purely hyperthetical situation (that hopefully won't occur naturally) where a hostage/terrorist scenario happens in the UK somewhere, and is fantastically and swiftly sorted by Britains elite SAS troops. Now this sort of thing (as we know from experience) is what the News 'Media' dream about: (especially if they've got camera's on scene), and as we all know, the SAS logo would then be plastered on every rag for weeks to come, with films coming out (Eastenders advisors telling how it really is) and God only knows what other garbage to-boot, innit.

Isn't it surprising then, that not one major outlet has commented, or reported upon a rather 'unwise' statement last week by Sir Michael Rose (ex SAS Chief) virtually directly to Blair, accusing him of being a War Criminal over Iraq, in no uncertain terms. We'll forget obviously that General Rose himself has made a fortune through his company security interests in Iraq itself, etc, and should surely keep quiet?

Those with any interest at all in Britain, will also be aware that this was put to the PM at question time on wednesday also, to which he basically ignored it. I find it rather strange that such an illustrious career (as well as bringing the SAS into disrepute by association) is put on the line by an obviously brilliant man, by dabbling/putting his finger into politics, surely knowing that he can never come out smelling of roses as it were, beats me, dunnit?*

Shock & Stun Grenades*

P.S. Hello Our Fredders, you'll no doubt be back in yer old scratcher again by now John, I trust that famous Hereford apple-juice is not getting the better of you, I know it would me?*

N.B. Surely when fags are proven to be lethal in a passive sense, parents who expose their kids (especially babies) to smoke, are knowingly abusing them, and should be taken into care forthwith, in the logical scenario?* If parents abuse their kids with alcohol &/or drugs they have the book thrown at them, and the kids are taken into care immediately as has always quite rightly been the case in UK, so why is smoke and tar abuse (which can easily be avoided) any different?*

Why do you deny Rose the right to an opinion?

I don't Our Nime, I just question his motives and intelligence, when he's so obviously gained so much personally from the whole shebang! (Why didn't he open his mouth much much earlier, and why didn't he cease to profit big-style from Iraq itself through his own security companys? it's serious Hypocrisy of the 'highest order', and is openly seen to be serious hypocrisy of the highest odour, and Senior ex-soldiers who get into politics, usually get their fingers badly burnt, and this is seemingly no exception to the rule, that's all matey*

Regards,

Fritz

P.S. In a wartime scenario 'Were he still serving' or just retired, by publically calling ones 'Commander in Chief' (PM) a War criminal, many would deem it as damned near to Treason (Imagine Churchill, he'd have him orf to the Tower at the double, no compunction). The price people like our Mick pay for their priveleges in life is their silence!*

N.B. I feel that if certain Firearms Officers carry out their threat to down weapons in support of possible charges to 10 colleagues in the Menedez case, they should be fired immediately, and threatened with pension stoppage too, they are out of order, plain and simple, no in-betweens*

I could just imagine Bush or Rumsfeld putting up with such insurbordination? I don't think***

Good job thats just your opinion. Remember firearms officers volunteer to complete this part of their role - they are not forced to, and quite rightly so IMV.

Re your other comment,I ought to take your advice and abstain from giving a differant view of things, then. You can then ramble on about what you like without fear of objection etc. I don't seen how my post on PFM was discussing anything. I just want the enquiry to be as open as possible.

Someone reasonably famous once said," The police are the public and the public are the police, the police being only members of the public who are paid full time to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence".

Fritz, Do you really think I have actually said anything that woud bring me into conflict with my employers?

I suppose these volunteers were/are not paid accordingly either? I can just imagine my own Father's ex units (he was armed for many years, in and out of uniform on a daily basis) if they'd decided to down guns, probably different in Nottingham though? get a grip John, and stop talking Hollywood fantasy talk, this is the real world, and just because one sees it daily, it doesn't mean one undertstands it*

I repeat, if they down tools, they should be fired (bang out of order so it is), no in-betweens*

Fritz getting bored again*

Fritz,

then lets wait and see what outcomes the enquiry brings, eh?

Then this discussion will no doubt come up again. If you surf PFM properly you will see my stance on this subject. I didn't realise I had to appease you by repeating it here. Then again I don't have to - you go look on PFM if you are that bothered.

regards

andy.

As I've repeatedly said from day one Andy Old bean, and I'll say it again now for the very last time. It doesn't matter in the slightest what the results of this 'Inquiry' bring, because from day one it's never been seen as independent (for well known reasons), as you yourself are well aware too. As for your own situation, I can only take it for granted that you are what you say you are as a total non-knowable entity on an internet forum! I'll give you that benefit of the doubt, though it has absolutely no bearing on this point of view whatso'ever from my perspective, and to be honest I'm not in the slightest bit interested if you are Prince Charles himself, though would question possibly your liking for internet fori Old Son?

This will be later seen as a complete waste of time and money, will be used politically against certain partys, and perfectly good Public Servants (Who can't just be replaced overnight) will be gone forever, and no! I don't refer to the 10 possible candidates either.

Teatime methinks.

I'm personally looking forward to pubs here becoming non smoking eventually, as I'm one of those weak individuals who presently only smokes after a few swift halves in the boozer. The Irish model had proved highly successful, and of course folk can toke outside if they wish. I'm still in two minds though wether non smoking CID Officers should be fired/diciplined or not, if they refuse to enter a smokey Boozer in the pursuance of their investigations`*

I was probably put of off track by a sight to behold this moaning whils't going into my tax office building. The streets are full of 10cm + of snow mush, and the said building (Old Kaisers Jobby) is fronted with scaffolding & plastc sheeting, as a stone cleaning excercise is occurring at present. Just walking up to one of the large flghts of stairs, and what do I see 10 metres in front of me at ground level, behind a blustery cover! a bloody bare arse sitting upon a bucket, that's what. Now builders & architechts out there wont be surprised by this, as I wasn't, but baring in mind there's a perfectly decent warm toilet inside the building, one can only assume that the poor bugger was non German, and non German speaking, and there was me thinking that all of the Brits had left town at last*
