Gold Medal Wine

Now no longer after wine sent to judges was found to be different from those sold to consumers. How rampant is this in the wine industry in NZ and the world for that matter?

Also interesting comment at end of article:
Mr Marris is the chief judge of both the Air New Zealand and Liquorland competitions. He has defended his wine, saying that while the batches were "technically different" they had a "flavour consistency" and consumers would not be able to taste the difference.
How much emphasis do you pay to the awards? Makes you wonder. Not flatering for the wine industry in NZ. Hope this is not the tip of the iceberg!
