I saw him a few years ago, at North Sea Jazz, if memory serves. Ornette isn't really my bag, and I can't say that his performance then turned me around. He played violin quite a lot, which didn't help matters - I think the violin is a no-no in jazz.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy Ornette in 'Nam. I saw Arthur Blythe there a couple of years ago, and he was excellent.

I LOVE OC for his merits in Jazz. He and his bands were a melting pot and cradle for so many talents in Jazz, still performing today.

His music has left me behind, years ago. Unfortunately - but true for me.

I saw him last year at the Walt Disney Concert Hall here in Los Angeles. He sure knows how to clear a room! We had a blast though. Truely an amazing display of musical prowess you'll never see again. Highly recommended!

It's his 75th birthday tour, so he will be on top form I suspect. He still plays with incredible invention and power. He's one of the most important living musicians in any genre, full-stop, and it will be one of the most unmissable nights of your life, I would guess.
