Believe it or not there's one of these vibrating cleaners currently on e-bay and its already got to 42 quid! Has the world gone mad?

I'm sure mine cost me about 12 quid. Hmmm, I suppose that was 1984. I think its still on its second Duracell.

What is the definitive line on these AT637s?

I've had one since the late 80s but have been reluctant to use it recently as I have hear it can actually reduce the life of the cartridge.

Is it safe to use on my XX2 or should I consign it to Ebay, £42 quid from £12 in 15 years is not a bad investment

I've also had one since 1984. Bit Orwellian!

Linn used to swear by them. I was told not to use one on my now defunct XX1-L, and haven't yet risked it on the XX2, so would also appreciate advice.

Worth here mentioning how superbly desirable so many Audio-Technica products were (are?) - e.g. the Safety Raiser (still got one, can't use it on LP12) and the wonderful ATH70 headphones (I previously owned ATH8s) which I wish I still had.
