28" widescreen CRT TV

Posted by: Sloop John B on 05 June 2006

I've been asked to get one of these for my brother in law who is recovering from a hip operation and needs a TV in his bed room. I know it's hardly home theatre but you may be able to help.

From my own perspective I would want autoformat and 100HZ flicker free, but I would appreciate any suggestions for actual models you may know of.

Thanks

Sony 28in KD-28DL11U is reasonably good. I bought one recently (not sure its 100hz though).

CRT still gives one of the best pictures out there (although interlaced and small size)IMHO.

If you can get a 32in size, but beware, they are heavy and quite deep.

Probably too expensive but is the rolls royce solution.

Definitely best 28" widescreen is a B&O Avant.

Cant get them new anymore and would budget for €2k 2nd hand. B&O Dublin may have some in stock 2nd hand. (Call Billy Peat in Donnybrook)

I bought one of these 5 years ago (New) and it was the best money I ever spent.
