first pic: square wave mesurament of a CDP with classic DAC based on tda 1451

second pic: the same cdp connected to a zero oversampling dac based on tda 1451.

No experiance of this at all, but if you haven't tried you might get more response on th e Pink Fish Forum where they tend to talk about mods a bit more than here,

So Simo - are you saying the second (non-oversampling) DAC's output is better then? I can't read (Italian?)?

Curious here - as the Sony CDP101 (the first CD player) is a brickwalled 0 oversampling player as well - never heard one but I'm curious...

Yup the Arcam Alpha 5, modified by a certain gent to remove the overclocking, is a firm favourite over there.

Try a search on "AAAA" or "AAAA5".

Now the caveat. With standard analogue filters designed for oversampling a lot of ultrasonic crud will get through to the amplifier. This might affect amplifier stability (potential to make an amp go bang) and will use up amplifier power (amplifying stuff you can't hear.)

it may demage the tweeter too, but many people say is a big improvement to the sound and naim amp cut of the hi freq. at 30000hz so it can work well.
I'd like listen to marantz cd94mkII (2 x tda1451 double crow)Z.O., selected caps and precision master clock, of an Italia "TNTyahoo-goup" member.
Roll Eyes ops! my Cdi too Wink
