Here we go again...

"The Aspekt (equipment stand)works well with a wide range of equipment from Rega's £300 Brio amp through to our reference Krell set-up. Compared to our usual Mana tables the Clearlight provides more weight, and reveals the natural warmth of recordings. Michael Jackson's Invincible enjoys greater refinement due to clearly differentiated high frequencies with minimal harshness. The Aspekt's presentation isn't as forward as the Mana racks, majoring on an unforced approach. Detail levels are improved, and so the resolution of space around the instruments and vocals is far more convincing. The result is that the EMI recording of Mahler's 10th Symphony gains depth and scale."

I think reviewers using round-earth euphemisms should be consigned straight to the recycling bin.

WhatHifi's reviews are basically about as useful as a chocolate teapot...

I'm not sticking up for Mana nor berating the other rack, but WHF are reknowned for being the most biased (to their advertisers) of the rags and I happen to know that Mana don't advertise - or maybe they do in that rag, but I wouldn't waste my pennies...

Mana takes as much flak round here as it gets praises...

I for one don't use Mana anymore...

Clearlight have a very simple design philosophy, using a proprietary metal impregnated resin compound of very high Q. This should damp vibrations quite effectively, proving both absorbtion and isolation. I have one of their isolating platforms on an Ash stand and I am very impressed with the improvement it causes under my CD transport.
