Nait 5 with a NAPSC

Posted by: av in bc on 22 November 2003

Is it possible to use a NAPSC with a Nait 5, and if yes then would it be useless when upgrading to FlatCap or Hi-Cap.
Also, i can't find any information on the Nait 5 on the Naim site, i guess it is now discontinued but is still current.

I am not aware of how you could use an NASPC with a nait 5 except in use with a stage line or similar.

I might be wrong though, but I do think the only natural progress for this amp is the flatcap2.

And yse it has been discontinued as such and replaced with the nait5i, it has a tilt a swivel head and 20 inch display.

You can download the NAIT5 manual and a connections guide here: http://216.149.62.210/products/intro_manuals.html

The Nait 5 has not been discontinued yet. It also offers the benefit of being upgradeable with the flatcap which the Nait 5i won't.

av in bc: The only uses of a NAPSC are to power a stageline, headline or the digital display of a 202 and 282. It doesn't offer the full 24v power supply rail required for any of the analogue stages of the preamps. So for a sonic improvement, your earliest port of call is a flatcap.

Frank,

Are you sure about a Napsc being capable of powering a Stageline ?
