I've got the Earwax CD. It's great for putting on for people who claim to "like all kinds of music" whne you know they don't, and feel like proving it!
I like it, it's anarchic and fun. But it isn't especially accessible, there's little in the way of melodic content. In a thread on the original naim forum JV suggested it wasn't something he'd recommend as a starting point for naim recordings, and naim's first sampler quite conspicuously failed to include any tracks from it, despite their being plenty of space and something from all the other contemporary CDs that were available then.
If you have pretty catholic taste in music and like more outre things, a good disc, but expect just plain strange, rather than zany.
Pete.
