Did anyone see the first of this series?
Maybe TV companies have finally got the message that they need to make decent programmes in order to keep our interest, and this was wonderful.
Watch it if you are even slightly interested in the subject (I could have done without the dramatic reconstructions, but I ain't gonna complain).

Unfortunately, they lost my interest several years ago. Looking for a DVD of The Ascent of Man.

I thought it was a valiant effort

but

make a programme about the art

and one about the artist

the dramatic bits interfered with schama and schama for me spoiled a good romp about carravagio

cant wait to see how they inject dramatic footage about rothko

amazon as malky suggests 26 quid
