A message to our moderator

Hi Richard

I have no problem with your moderation, which has been excellent. However, your comment below needs to be corrected.

"OK, I think this thread is reaching the point where it's run it's course"

As the official voice of Naim, and follower in Adam's footsteps, you have a duty to deploy 'its' and 'it's' correctly. 'It's' is an abbreviation of 'it is'. 'Its' is like 'his' or 'hers' and needs no apostrophe. So when referring to a dog's tail, one writes 'its tail' rather than 'it's tail'. So it should therefore be 'its course'.

I hope that little lesson is helpful.

Now someone can slag me off for being irritating, anally retentive, patronising or whatever!!

I could tell you where you could shove a Powerline Winker

Cheers guys!! Though I could take offence at condescending... but as 151 can spell it correctly, I won't.

Give it a rest guys. Only yesterday I was commenting to someone I know that much the forum currently seems to be bring out signs of completely arrested development in some of its members.

The place has become a place of the utmost childishness from some who are old enough, and should be emotionally mature enough to know better how to conduct themselves.

Nigel, you're quite correct. I like to think my grammar is usually spot on. I'll blame the fiddly keypad on the iPhone and it's rather unpredictable "predictive" text. Roll Eyes

However, do we really need a thread pointing this out...?

George

The trouble is, the hifi side of the forum has become amazingly dull, and the music room has been taken over by proggers.

I must report that I have finally acquired a Brooks B17 for the Raleigh Royal, after coveting one for nearly 30 years! And very nice it is too.

We need another compulsive upgrader to worry about!

Don't you mean "it" did it again...?

At least the iPhone means I can play with my toy (thread coming soon - it's very big and very green!) and also keep an eye on the forum every now and again.

Not at all, Richard, it's a song title and thus supposed to be witty!! I keep thinking of an iPhone, since we got No.1 son an iPod touch for his birthday. It's amazing what they can do.

In the Netherlands we've invented an appropriate word for this: kommaneuken

Please Nigel, you made your point. now lets move on.

Fred

You cannot write comma fucking on the Naim forum. It's rude. Still, I take your point!

Amazing language!

Mr Hungryhalibut

Just to out do you, I have a Brooks Flyer which is the same as your B17 but with chrome plated springs to provide extra comfort.

My saddle is, therefore, considerably more comfortable than yours.

You have a bum saddle, try upgrading it.

Your post may be factually correct but I find its tone appalling.

So those who most enjoy the classics of the baroque and Viennese schools are not music lovers then? I knew I must be doing something wrong!

It is not clear from your post.
