Hutter Platform 1

I noticed these isolation platforms on the Hutter website. Has anyone seen one in the flesh, or better still heard any kit standing on one?

Yes I have heard this under LP12 and under CD players. I think it brings worthwhile improvements to the LP12, in particular removing the mid-bass bloom. Not so sure about its effectiveness under CD players - simply haven't heard it enough to really come to a conclusion yet.

The LP12 improvement is immediate and obvious in my view.

Frank.

spikes supporting the platform act as sound absorbers.

There's obviously something either Hutter or I do not understand here. I thought spikes produced no vibration damping, how do they 'absorb' sound?

I think the problem here is the translation. They also state: The core of the system is a free-floating platform set in a wooden frame which can float freely horizontally and vertically, so there appears to be some compliance in the device.

I've just installed a Hutter Rack at the weekend and it has certainly helped isolate my LP12 before hand I had to tip toe over to turn an album over now I can just walk over.

Never paid much attention to all the heated debates over rack's so I just bought one within my budget which looks great and I must say it has improved my hi-fi enormously.
