Hot Chip - The warning

I have owned the first album, which came out in 04, for a few months and it is a really happy and assured grower. Anyhow, the new one is more of the same but with a more varied and uptempo feel but with the quirky quality firmly intact.

A smart and smily record for the summer (when it arrives). A nice relief from Scott Walkers new one anyhow!

I brought this thread back to life because I really think there are a lot of people on this forum who would like this album. Maybe their spot on Jools Holland will have helped.

Give me an idea who/what it is like. I'm always game for new music.

Bruce - Electro squelchy low fi kitchen sink pop meets a young kraftwork with added humour - thats the best I can do in a media friendly sound bite!

If you go to their web site you can listen to snippets from the album. Listen to 'look after me' and 'And I was a boy from school, first as the beginning track on the album is electro/drum and bass and might not be the best introduction.

Don't let the nasty compressed files put you off. I don't know about the CD but on double vinyl it sounds very respectable.

You may well not like it but then again..
