John Peel Archive - Where are the Index Cards?
Posted by: Ron Brinsdon on 04 May 2012
Much of the publicity for this project said that you would be able to view the album cover together with Peel's index card notes for each one.
I can view the first 100 "A" entries (all that are online so far) together with a mini cover and reference to the card but no actual card.
Anyone able to point me to the cards?
Have a great break
Ron
Click again, and for whatever mini cover is displayed, another link opens to the index card, larger pictures of the front and back cover, and a Spotify link (if available).
Thanks Chief but there is no link showing on either my office PC or laptop at home when I access this through myspace.org.
I am approaching this through a vitrual room of Peel's with other options such as Peel Sessions, photos etc. I am then clicking on a record box highlighted in yellow - is this the same way you are approaching it?
Thanks
Ron
Sorry, not "myspace.org" but "Thespace.org"
Hi Ron, Yep, same thing.
Here: http://thespace.org/items/s000004u
Then: http://thespace.org/content/s000004u/albums/
And then: http://thespace.org/content/s0...ordbox.html?letter=A
Move your mouse left/right and the mini albums show, another click on the highlighted yellow album spine/line, and it opens another link to the larger image etc for each album. From there, you can use the left/right arrows to look through those.
Thanks for alerting me to this.
I have been working nights and must have missed the various news items.
About time justice was done to the great mans music collection.
I maybe wrong but i seem to recollect it was actually going to be housed in a building in Stowmarket.

I think it is somewhere in my settings - the Naim Forum is showing me a message that my "browser needs updating - try IE 8 or 9" when in fact I am already using IE9.
I will keep trying!
Best wishes

Try using Firefox: I don't use IE as I find it pretty poor. I have just accessed JP's collection and have found that the links to the index cards and Spotify (I have a Premium account)work fine.

Al, you beat me to it!
I tried Google Chrome and all now works fine
