Beach Boys reunion tour

Has anybody been lucky enough to catch this? I had serious doubts but having heard some recordings it sounds insanely good. The support band is mainly Brian's with a few other first class musicians alongside.

Sadly no UK dates by the looks of it, disappointing because for a while they were bigger here than anywhere else.

The Beach Boys have announced a date at Wembley Arena on 28th September. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (1st June). I saw The Beach Boys twice back in the 1980s. The first time I loved them. It was great to see and hear all those classic songs performed live. The second time I found the show somewhat uninteresting. The Beach Boys were always a studio band and the recreation of those songs in a live concert was never going to match Brian Wilson's studio artistry. With musicians from Brian's band augmenting The Beach Boys on this reunion tour I'm sure it will be pretty good.

According to even jaundiced reviewers, the last 3 tracks on the album are pretty special. Worth listening to this one:

The new album's no Pet Sounds but it's still really good, full of nice tunes and beautiful harmonies. I don't care if autotune is all over it. I don't know what some people expected. Many reviews I've read have been very positive but a couple have just been downright nasty written by nomarks who think they're much more important than they really are.

If you're already a fan you'll probably like it. If not it won't change your mind. Is that any surprise to anybody?

From what I have heard of the album personally I don't like it much. Songs are not that strong apart from the single.
