All the music on NAS, new computer

Posted by: P.Bonte on 26 May 2012

Hi,

All my music is on a NAS and managed via my MacBook. Everything works fine.

I installed a new MacMini headless and it can access (via Home Sharing) my iTunes library. All seems fine too.

I now want to export my library and use it as the main library on my Mini, keeping data on NAS. Since there are some 600Gb, I want to avoid creating duplicates. Will an import of the shared library be OK ?

Thank you for help. Forum search and Google did not give me a clear view.

Phillipe does you nas not have an itunes daap server on it?

I would seriously reccomend this route, trying to maintain multiple itunes databases to one library is a total ball acher.

I did not mention that, after transferring, I plan to delete the original library on my Macbook. No multiple databases for me.
