Transfer HiRes Music from Laptop to HDX

How does one transfer downloaded HiRes music( FLAC format) from a Laptop to the HDX and NAS on the same network?

I would be grateful if all replies were as simple as possible to execute.Computers and I are not a very

productive pairing!!!!!

You cannot transfer your downloads from laptop to HDX, unless it is the newest 2Tb model. HDX will detect those files on the network and play them in any case. Transferring from laptop to NAS should be as easy as transferring btw different folders.

As Aysil says, you don't. You can load them onto a NAS or a USB drive and play them from the HDX. In a post from last year, Dave Dever (former tech head at NAIM USA) gave an explanation why USB drives are not the preferred option but I don't know if this translates into a significant concern from a SQ standpoint.

How does the HDX index wav files transferred to the disk? Folder structure like or does it show "unknown artist etc"?

Garyi, FAQs will be revised and updated this Summer. There should be some basic streaming stuff added too.
