Some good news from the US for those of us who (like my goodself) still obsess somewhat about all things Steely Dan .....
Scott Hull who spent 15 years at Masterdisk and was Bob Ludwig's assistant is overseeing the new Donald Fagen album (for CD, vinyl and iTunes) - produced by Michael Leonhart for Warner",
During his tenure at Masterdisk previously, Scott had the honor of mastering Donald Fagen's Kamikirad

I wonder if there's any chance at all of a Hi Res DVD-A release of his newie or has that ship long sailed? ....or perhaps a blu-ray audio version? ...time will tell I guess.

The Duke's Of September ( inc. Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald & Boz Scaggs).are touring all over the US in the coming summer months so perhaps it will be released sooner rather than later or held back till he's able to tour the album solo...which really means I don't know!
You should really give Morph The Cat a good listen Claus it's a fine album.

Mary Shut the Garden Door and Security Joan lingered in the memory, plus some of the lyrics of Brite Nightgown ('Hebrew Kings and furry things'...) - some of the rest sounds a bit mechanical to me - perhaps the drumming?

Very good news, it's 30 years since The Nightfly was released and I still can't think of a better album after the Steely Dan.
