Annoying network glitch

Just had a very annoying half-hour sorting out why I couldn't play music from my NDX using nStream on the iPad3, although I could access it via the iPhone! nStream on the iPad was denying that there were any devices present, although my laptop said all was present and correct. Tried the obvious - i.e. rebooting the iPad, and my other devices. Didn't cure the problem.
Tried websurfing on the iPad, and although the wifi indicator was showing good signal strength, it wouldn't work, and dropped me straight into the Netgear600 admin screen, so I went through its rigmarole (on the ipad - big mistake), had to re-register my Netgear wifi extender (alas, the signal strength in my study from the router itself is inadequate to run the iPad/iPhone on its own). This stalled at the updating stage, and I eventually closed it all down. Nothing had changed except that I could now surf the web, but iphone still worked with NDX, but iPad didn't.
Logged into Netgear600 admin from my laptop, reconfigured again, and all back to normal.
I blame it all on the power cut we must have had last night, as I have just noticed that the display is lit on my nSub whereas as I usually have it disabled. (not used with NDX, BTW)
Anyway, I'm off to copy my Manassas LPs to digital format for the NAS ...
