NAS and nServe issue

Posted by: Bruce Woodhouse on 10 June 2012

Finally getting round to using my NAS and I have a query.

I'm going to back up all my PC iTunes files to the NAS. Most of those albums are also stored in my HDX. Whilst getting things set up I just copied a couple of albums into the NAS folder. Then when using nServe to select an album I now see two copie' of these albums to select from (ie one on the NAS and one HDX).

Can this be altered so I only see the albums on the HDX, or so that at least it is easy to tell between the two copies which is stored where?

I'm figuring the only option is to have a seperate folder with the music that is in iTunes only (and podcasts etc) and direct the HDX is to that but this seems rather clunky.

Hi Bruce,

What I do is to de-activate the folder in the DTC, under >tools>scanable network shares .

Or use "Brose Music" -> "Music Location" -> "CD Collection" which will only show you your ripped CDs as stored on/by the HDX and not any other shared folders...
