Fiona Apple new CD

Hi all. Any Fiona Apple fans out there? What do you think of her new cd? Rave reviews almost everywhere. As much as I like her, not sure about this one. Reminds me of Amanda Marshall...

I have listened to 'The Idler Wheel' a few times. Unlike 'Tidal' it doesn't have any instant hook factor. The production is more dense and the emotional tone is even darker. It will take a few listens to get through the deliberate polyphony (?cacophony). So far my favorite tracks are 'Valentine' and 'Hot Knife'- but that may change after a few more listens. Sonically it is also quite good, with her vocals being very natural and up front.
