Hi guys, I need some help and hope some of you do have a solution.
After I set up my Upnp-client, n-stream is playing the wrong tracks. It doesn’t care about the album tags and is sorting alphabetically within all songs of one artist.
First I had the problem, that n-stream was always displaying the tracks in right order (by track number), but always played them after alphabetical order, which means I started track 1 in the n-stream list, but n-stream played track 1 set under alphabetical order (AA). After I read a lot about this problem and I do not care about the sorting by track number that much, I erased the track-number-tags on my external hard disk. But this only solved my problem partially. It now does work if there is only one album within one artist folder. N-stream then does sort alphabetically by track, right as the twonky client does.
But: In case of several albums/folders within one artist folder, all tracks are shown well sorted within n-stream (artist -> album -> track title), but seem to be sorted by artist and track title on the server only. If I play track 1 of album 1, n-stream plays whatever track 1 is sorted alphabetically over all albums (Aa)!
Thanks for any help!
Regards Markus

5 years ago my Sonos could do this without difficulty. Why is Naim struggling so much with simple user interface software?
Love my gear and the brand and the streaming stuff sounds good, but still not going to buy any until the interface is sorted.
Had been hoping with new n-stream, but initial feedback isn't great.

Hey Maxi, I think you might be biting off your nose to spite your face here!
It actually works fine (IMHO)

I've got the same issue on random albums on my ndx netgear readynas duo 2 combo?? The new update hadn't made any difference.

Which upnp server are you using? This is usually where the issue stems from. If you have some albums from different sources with different ways of track numbering and metadata then some servers won't be able to serve it all up coherently to the NDX. As I have mentioned before on other threads, I find that Asset seems to make the most sense of the most files for me and the NDX can make sense of just about everything that Asset serves up. The downside to Asset is that is has to be running on a PC or a NAS running some form of Windows.

Hi Richard, hi unclegaz,
Like you Richard, I first expected different tags to cause this problem, but all music is taged the same way with perfectly filed tags, so that seems not to be the problem. And as the n-stream update solved that problem for me, it seems not or not only to be a server issue. But unlike you unclegaz, it wasn't random in my case, so that Richard's hint to proof your tags might help.
