Weiss INT202 and Supernait

I've just updated my profile after introducing a Weiss Int202 between my Mac Mini (running Amarra full version) and Supernait. I was a little sceptical about the possible advantages of this, but a dealer offered to lent me a demo unit at a good price. If anyone else doubts the virtues of a Firewire/SPDIF convertor, take it from me that the effect is startling. While the Supernait is quite impressive with its built-in DAC, I found it a bit wearisome after an hour or two. The Weiss provides a full and completely convincing sound without digital edge and at the same time a marked gain in information. That description is a bit cautious – the truth is I am mesmerised by what I'm hearing (which unfortunately makes me feel I shall have to upgrade from the DAC2 on my main rig). Everything is wonderfully better. Give it a try if you can.

Hi Wilko, I have found that what you have described is the main advantage/difference between Naim and Weiss. I sold a Naim Dac for a Weiss Dac202, suddenly the music took on a beautiful natural and effortless presentation.

Enjoy
