D-Link Router

This may be a dumb question: But I'm asking it anyway!

I have a Virgin SuperHub with an attached NAS in the same room as a NaimUniti and transmitting wirelessly. All is (mainly) fine but with occasional drop-outs.

There's no way for me to actually have the Uniti wired without ripping up floorboards which I'm not going to do.

I also have two redundant D-Link routers. Is it possible (and would there be a benefit) in using one of those on the wireless network and CAT5d into the Uniti? Or would that just be silly?

If it would make a difference how do I do it?

Many thanks in advance.

Jon, you've seen the main post about Virgin Superhub and the recommendation to use another router directly attached (wired)...  have you actually plugged one of the D-Link routers into the Virgin hub, and are you using this D-Link to provide wireless rather than the Virgin hub ?

Having another D-Link plugged into the Uniti is not a brilliant idea - the wireless radio in the Uniti should be more than adequate - concentrate on the Virgin end.

I often find that prayer helps when it comes to setting up wireless networks, btw.

Hi. Yes I saw that and had a long conversation with Virgin. Who knew nothing about the problem. (not surprisingly - I'd have a bet the information had never filtered down to their tech support)

But after some faffing and reboots I've managed to get the Virgin SuperHub working 100% now with the Uniti - so I think that the issue may be with just some installations.

So, as of now, I guess there's no advantage in going for that D-Link option? My only thought was having the Uniti hard-wired to the D-Link may (and it's a may) have an advantage?
