Here's my latest favourite. Turn up the volume and enjoy, as for me this ranks with the BRM V16 and any modern F1 engine:

Your wish, BRM V16 around(I think) Goodwood. Around 1:50 ish it passes, and then you hear it away.

Video sound is abit quiet but BRM can be heard around the whole circuit.

Howard, I have the CD of that BRM and the other Nick Mason cars. Buy the book, it's included. I think it's called The Red Line. Tony

FYI it's "Into the Red". Just Googled.

A bit too rich for my blood.

I have a feeling it may have been a BRM I stumbled across on the Friday of this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.  My ear drums nearly burst.  For some reason still unknown to me, as the car was maneuvered into its parking space in the paddock, the driver sat with his foot flat to the boards on the accelerator whilst others pushed the car.  The noise really was ear splitting.  If anyone knows why they didn't just kill the engine and then push it into the bay please do let me know!!!
